Multi-wire cutting machines

SOMOS multi-wire machines enable high-performance cutting of hard materials such as SiC or sapphire.

The part is glued to a sacrificial support, with a net of parallel diamond-coated wires which cuts several slices simultaneously.

The machine is controlled by a PLC. The human-machine interface is tactile and intuitive.

RTD and MWX machines are ideal for highly productive cutting of hard and brittle materials.

This process reduces material losses and damage to the material during cutting.

The machines are equipped with wire breakage detection systems, to automatically stop the machine if necessary.
